7. Looking Back At Your Preliminary Task (The School Magazine Task), What Do You Feel You Have Learnt In The Progression From It To Full Product?
Since creating my school magazine, I have learnt alot. The school magazine was created with very basic skill, and this is reflected in the final product. On the front cover, the use of house style is not very attractive to the audience, with bright, clashing colours. On the contents page, it looks very basic and although the colours do attract the audience, it still does not look professional. Compared to the final product of my music magazine, the skills I progressed with using programmes such as Fireworks and online websites, you can see the improvements. With subtle colours that attract the audience on the front page, I have become more aware of what attracts an audience. The contents page is although still simple, its effective with only using 3 colours - black, white and red. This attracts the audience because it
6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
Laptop- the laptop came in useful because it kept all my work together and allowed me to do my work whenever I wanted too.
Internet- the internet was critical to my research stage, as I used it to find example poses and model shots, and also to research other music magazines.
Memory Card- this was useful because I could keep all my pictures together, as I was very worried about losing my photos.
Camera-this was useful to take my pictures, as I wanted to take the pictures in different settings so I could experiment with different pictures on my front cover and my contents page.
Memory Stick- this kept all my work portable, so it wasn't just saved on a computer drive.
Fireworks was helpful as it allowed me to edit my front cover and contents page easily. I gained skills on Fireworks during the School Magazine so I found it easier to edit quickly on the music magazine task.
Wordle is a programme that creates brainstorm of ideas. I found this useful in helping me to choose a magazine name.
Prezi helped me to put my thoughts on a collective page to help me plan the magazine. It also helped me to present my readership profile. Also it is good for showing an analysis of a certain image that helped me with planning my magazine.
Scanner helped me put my paper plans and my ideas onto my blog.
I learnt that using a wide variety of technologies is critical to making a successful music magazine.

This is the typical audience for my media product, as I have tried to adapt each part of the readership profile into the magazine. The individuals like to attend festivals, so I have put in a festival pullout, as well as festival fashion.
