3. What kind of media insitution might distribute your media product and why?

The insitution that would distribute my media product would be groups such as the Bauer Media Group. This insitution distributes 38 million magazine copies world wide every week, and as it was founded in 1875, it is an established company through time who obviously know how to sell magazines. They also offer online websites, radio stations and TV programmes. At the moment, the other British magazines distributed by Bauer are Take a Break, Thats Life!, Closer, Grazia, Q and Kerrang. This would be a suitable company because it also distributes other music magazines (Q and Kerrang). My magazine would fit into this company as it covers a wide range of genres in my magazine, and fits with the likes of Q magazine, as they focus on rock/pop, and would compliment the nature of my magazine, The Beat.

Bauer Media Group also run music channels and radio stations, which is another reason why it would be suitable to distribute my music magazine. Running tv channels such as The Box and Kiss radio station, the music played in these are those published in my magazine, so the audience would be mainly the same. If my magazine was to be successful, the other parts of the Bauer Media Group such as the TV and Radio channels would allow it to expand to these other types of medias, which gives it a chance to grow in the future. I believe this is important as it means there are no restrictions on 'The Beat' growing and expanding if the audience show enough interest.
